Alastair Kwan

Artist & filmmaker

As a British Born Chinese artist, I position my work between my Chinese heritage and my experiences growing up in the UK. I take inspiration from cultural encounters and post-colonial theory, working across film, performance and object making. I have recently finished studying MA Sculpture at the Royal College of Art.  Prior to the RCA I studied and worked as a lawyer. I have shown work in various exhibitions most recently at Sarah Staton’s Supastore at South London Gallery (London) and at PROXY at Cromwell Place (London). In 2021 I received the RCA Gilbert Bayes Award from the Royal Society of Sculptors.
